Il cuore Pulsante di Sampa

Mold Design and Manufacturing

The mold workshop represents the true beating heart of Sampa, the point from which the inputs originate that drive and coordinate the entire operational structure. With a production of around 50 molds per year, we support clients through every stage: from component design and the selection of the most suitable materials to mold manufacturing and maintenance, a long-standing strength of our company.

Advanced Design Technology

Our technical department uses VISI CAD and CAM, an integrated design system that includes Moldflow simulation for analyzing mold cavity filling. This technology allows us to:

  • simulate the behavior of the molten material
  • optimize every detail before the production phase
  • significantly reduce development time
  • ensure a fast and efficient time to market without compromising quality

Machinery for Mold Manufacturing

The mechanical workshop is equipped with next-generation technologies capable of ensuring micrometric precision, operational continuity, and fully integrated management of the production cycle.
Supporting the main machining processes, the facility also includes EDM systems for the creation of complex geometries, precision lathes and grinding machines, as well as a fully equipped tooling area dedicated to mold maintenance and fine tuning.

Precision CNC Milling Machines

The machinery used for mold manufacturing includes two next-generation CNC milling machines. The HAAS CNC milling machine represents American excellence in the production of numerically controlled machining centers, characterized by high operational reliability, fast execution speeds, and dimensional repeatability in high-productivity serial manufacturing.

The CMC OKUMA machining center, on the other hand, reflects the Japanese tradition in precision milling technology and features exceptional thermal stability of the mechanical structure, along with the ability to perform complex machining on intricate three-dimensional geometries, ensuring tight tolerances even on large molds.

The machines are networked with the CAD-CAM system, allowing an integrated workflow from design to production.

Excellence in Quality Control

Sampa has a dedicated metrology room, the core of the company’s quality system, equipped with a HEXAGON scanning arm for the three-dimensional measurement of molds and components. The system allows real-time acquisition and verification of dimensional conformity with the original CAD models, detecting even the smallest geometric deviations.

The metrology room is complemented by high-precision measuring instruments and operates according to ISO 9001:2015 certified protocols, ensuring traceability, reliability, and constant control throughout every stage of production.

Injection Molding Machine Fleet

The thermoplastics department represents the production evolution of Sampa and is supported by a modern, highly automated machine fleet. The presses cover a wide tonnage range, from 60 to 1080 tons of clamping force, enabling the production of both small and large components with high precision.

The machine fleet includes FANUC, HAITIAN, and NEGRI BOSSI technologies, ensuring reliability, build quality, and production flexibility. All machines are supplied by a SIMATEC centralized raw material distribution system, which guarantees compound consistency, reduces waste, and ensures optimal process control.

The presses operate in a fully automated configuration, with Cartesian robots, scrap separation systems, and conveyor lines directed toward packaging, ensuring traceability, production continuity, and 24/7 productivity.

Post-Processing and Finishing: Complete Service Integration

Thanks to an integrated and quality-oriented approach, Sampa offers a complete service covering every stage of the production process, from preliminary operations to final finishing. The integration of post-processing technologies allows the delivery of products that already meet the required technical and aesthetic specifications, ensuring full control over quality, timing, and traceability.

Post-processing activities include specialized welding processes such as hot blade welding for airtight joints and ultrasonic welding for assemblies without additional materials, as well as precision mechanical machining, assembly of complex components, chrome plating for aesthetic and protective finishes, pad printing and screen printing for customization.
